Here is sales call analysis software compared for EU teams: tl;dv, Fathom, Leexi, Modjo, Claap and Gong side by side, with the GDPR questions most US lists leave out.
The short answer: there is no best tool, there is a tool for each need. To keep a record of your meetings, a free notetaker is enough. To coach a team, pick a platform like Modjo. To know what your customers say from one call to the next, you need a tool that files everything by customer.
What kinds of AI sales call analysis tools are there?
- Notetakers transcribe and summarize your meetings. Examples: tl;dv, Fathom, Fireflies.
- Coaching tools, also called conversation intelligence software, spot objections and help a manager improve their reps. Examples: Modjo, Leexi, Claap.
- Tools for large teams add sales forecasting and tracking of a big pipeline. Examples: Gong, Clari.
Sales call analysis software compared, tool by tool
tl;dv
The simplestTranscription, summaries, shareable video clips. Handy for keeping a clean record of every call.
Limit: it records, it does not dig. Nothing on what comes back from one call to the next.
Fathom
Light and freeSummaries and action items, plugged into Zoom and Google Meet in minutes. The essentials, no setup.
Limit: it is a meeting notes tool, not a sales analysis tool.
Leexi
Simple and compliantMeeting transcription and tracking, good phone system integration, a focus on security and compliance.
Limit: centered on transcribing and summarizing each meeting.
Modjo
Team coachingA French platform, GDPR compliant. Dashboards, objection tracking, CRM integration. Built for a manager who coaches reps.
Limit: less suited to a solo founder or a team of two.
Claap
Shared videoA library of calls and video clips, searchable by keyword. Great for sharing a demo without one more meeting.
Limit: strong on sharing, lighter on sales analysis.
Gong / Clari
Large teamsAnalysis at scale, forecasting, pipeline tracking. Powerful for a structured sales force.
Limit: per-user licences plus a platform fee, on proposal. Built for dozens of reps.
ChatGPT / Claude
Do it yourselfYou paste a call transcript and ask for a summary or the objections. Often very good on a single call.
Limit: it starts from scratch every time. It does not know your customer and keeps nothing from one call to the next.
Which tool fits which need?
| Your need | The right option |
|---|---|
| Not forgetting anything from a meeting | tl;dv, Fathom |
| Coaching a sales team | Modjo |
| Sharing video clips | Claap |
| Managing a large pipeline | Gong, Clari |
| Analyzing a call now and then | ChatGPT, Claude |
What should an EU team check before buying?
- Notice. Everyone on the call must know it is recorded. Check how the tool lets you tell them.
- Where the data goes. Ask where recordings and transcripts are stored, and which sub-processors see them.
- Model training. Ask whether your calls train AI models. Ours never do.
- Deletion. Check that deleting a call also deletes what was extracted from it. Ours does.
Do not take a compliance badge on trust. Ask for the data processing agreement and the list of sub-processors before you sign.
What these tools do not do
Monday, a customer tells you the rollout worries them. The tool writes it in the summary. Three weeks later, a colleague takes over the account. They find nothing, short of replaying hours of recordings.
All these tools analyze a call well. What is missing is what comes next: every conversation landing in the customer's file, next to what they promised and where their deal stands. And the objections of fifty calls being countable.
The right question is not which tool analyzes best. It is where you will find, three months from now, what your customers said.
Our comparison sets eight tools against ours, Gong, Modjo, Claap and Leexi among them, with the source of every fact.
What we add
Every call and every email joins its customer's file, and your CRM stays up to date with no typing. Your won and lost deals are explained with figures and verbatims, and your best answers to objections serve the whole team.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best sales call analysis software?
It depends on your need. To not forget anything from a meeting, tl;dv or Fathom are enough. To coach a team, Modjo. For a large pipeline, Gong. Also check where the data ends up: in a standalone summary, or in each customer's file.
Are there cheaper alternatives to Gong?
Yes. Gong is built for large teams. For meeting notes, a light tool like tl;dv or Fathom is enough. For team coaching, look at Modjo or Leexi. Pay for the features you will actually open.
What should EU teams check in a sales call analysis tool?
Four things: how participants are told the call is recorded, where the data is stored and who processes it, whether calls train AI models, and whether deleting a call deletes what was extracted from it.
Can you analyze sales calls with ChatGPT or Claude?
Yes, and it is often good on a single call. The limit: the AI starts from scratch every time. It does not know your customer and keeps nothing from one call to the next.
What is conversation intelligence software?
It is software that transcribes sales calls and spots the objections in them, so a manager can follow the team. Modjo, Leexi and Claap are examples. A notetaker like tl;dv or Fathom only transcribes and summarizes.
