Gong alternatives for small teams: pricing and 7 tools

Looking for a Gong alternative for a team of 5 to 30 reps? Why its price is never public, 7 tools compared with their October 2026 pricing, and what to check before you sign.

You run a team of 5 to 30 reps and you are looking for a Gong alternative. Either you asked for a quote and the number did not fit your size, or you used Gong somewhere else and you know it was built for a different scale.

The short answer: for a small team, Gong alternatives fall into three families. Quote-based sales coaching tools, like Modjo. Meeting tools with public pricing, from €0 to €60 per user per month, like Leexi, Claap, Noota, tl;dv and Fireflies. And tools that turn every conversation into sales memory, to understand what makes your customers sign, Meidly among them. The right pick depends on the question you want to ask your conversations, not on the length of the feature list.

Why do small teams look for a Gong alternative?

Gong is the reference for large sales organisations. Nobody disputes the depth of the product. What sends a small team elsewhere comes down to three facts, all of them readable on Gong's own pages.

A price that is never public

Gong's pricing page shows no figure. It says licenses are priced per user, that a platform fee applies based on the number of users, and that you fill out a form to receive a proposal. The figures circulating on review sites cannot be checked against an official source, which is why none is quoted here. Keep the principle in mind: you will only know the price after talking to a sales rep.

Per-seat licenses plus a platform fee

Two lines on the invoice. The per-user license follows the size of the team, which is standard. The platform fee is a fixed part, and it weighs more the smaller the team is: spread over 200 reps it disappears in the total; spread over 8 it shows. The quote form itself puts every team from 1 to 50 people in the same bracket, the first of a scale that runs up to 10,000 users and more.

A tool built for large teams

Gong is made to run a big pipeline: forecasting, coaching at scale, deal reviews across hundreds of opportunities. In a team of 10, the sales director knows every deal by name. They pay for dashboards they will not open, and the team pays for a tool it uses for transcription and summaries.

One last point, often left out of the evaluation: Gong hosts data in the United States by default, and the European Union is chosen at onboarding. If your customers ask where your recordings live, make that choice before you sign.

Comparison: 7 Gong alternatives for a small team

Modjo: the closest to Gong

Modjo does the same job as Gong, for the French market: call replay, a call library, coaching. Its pricing page shows no figure and states that the tool is optimal from 3 sales reps. It is the right alternative if you want Gong's approach from a European vendor, and you accept going through a quote.

Leexi: public pricing, data in France

Leexi publishes its price list in euros, per license per month on an annual invoice. Starter is €12, capped at 5 licenses and 20 hours of recording a month. AI-Meeting is €23. Business, at €39, is the only plan that syncs summaries to the CRM. The coaching module is a €16 add-on. Data is stored and transits in France, with a Scaleway option for a French host.

Claap: coaching at a public price

Claap publishes its pricing: a limited free plan, Pro at €24 billed annually or €30 monthly, Business at €48 or €60. AI coaching and the HubSpot, Salesforce, Attio and Pipedrive connectors are reserved for Business. Recording goes through a Chrome extension on every plan, and a desktop app from Pro. It is the closest thing to a lighter Gong, with a price you know before the demo.

Noota: bot-free, hosted in Europe

Noota is a French meeting assistant. Its pricing page lists a free plan, Pro at €19 billed annually or €29 monthly, Business at €39 or €49. Bot-free recording and CRM sync start at Pro, and hosting is in Europe on every plan. Its most advanced ground is still recruitment; for sales, it produces reliable meeting notes.

tl;dv: the cheapest paid plan

tl;dv's pricing page shows a free plan, Pro at €18 per month billed annually or €29 monthly, Business at €29 or €39. The page does not detail what each plan includes: check during the trial that the CRM connectors you need come with the tier you are aiming for.

Fireflies: the generalist

Fireflies is a general-purpose meeting assistant, with a free plan and Pro and Business plans billed per seat, described on its pricing page. It joins your meetings with its bot, or records without one through its Chrome extension. CRM connectors are reserved for the paid plans, and a volume discount applies above 50 members. It transcribes well, in many languages, but it is not built for sales.

None of these tools is a cheaper Gong. They are answers to different questions.

What to check before choosing a Gong alternative

Four points separate these tools for a small team. Ask the four questions during the trial, not after the signature.

Bot-free recording

A bot that joins the meeting is one more participant in the list. Some customers ask who it is, others refuse the recording, and the rep opens the meeting with an explanation. Recording without a bot, from the browser or a desktop app, removes that moment. Noota offers it from Pro, Claap through its Chrome extension, Fireflies too. Test it on your own meetings: sound quality and speaker separation vary from one tool to the next.

The CRM

A summary that stays in the meeting tool is a summary nobody rereads. Check which plan includes CRM sync: Business at Leexi and Claap, Pro at Noota, the paid plans at Fireflies. Then check what gets written in the CRM: a note on the contact, tasks for the commitments made, or a plain link to the recording. And ask what happens when a rep edits the note in the CRM: some tools overwrite it on the next sync.

GDPR and EU hosting

A call recording holds personal data, your customers' and your reps' alike. The French regulator, the CNIL, reminds that processors must comply with the GDPR just like the controller, and that a transfer outside the European Union is only possible under conditions. So ask each vendor where the data is stored, who can access it, and whether it is used to train models. Leexi and Noota answer on their pricing page; at Gong, the European Union is chosen at onboarding.

Per seat or per usage

A per-seat price assumes every rep records about as much as the next. In a team of 12, three people run half the meetings, and a seat paid for someone who records two calls a month costs the same as a seat that records forty. Count your calls and emails over one month, and run the numbers in both models. The gap is often wider than the one between two per-seat price lists.

Choosing on the demo

  • The number of features on display
  • A price known after three calls with a sales rep
  • A per-seat contract for the whole team, from month one

Choosing on your usage

  • The question you want to ask your conversations
  • A price you can read before the demo, at your size
  • A trial on your own meetings, with your own customers

Where does Meidly fit in this comparison?

We do not do Gong's job. We turn every customer conversation into your sales memory: what makes customers sign, what blocks them, and what to bring back on the next deal. Every call, email or message joins the right customer's file, and you query the whole. The manager also applies their sales methods there, criterion by criterion, to every conversation.

  • Recording: Google Meet, Zoom and Teams in the browser, through a Chrome extension, with no bot in the meeting. The Zoom and Teams desktop apps are not supported. The emails exchanged with your customers are imported from a connected mailbox, and audio, video and text files can be imported too.
  • Analysis: every conversation is transcribed, cut into passages tagged by meaning (objection, competitor named, need, commitment, reason a deal was won or lost), and attached to the customer's file. Deals, competitors, commitments and stakeholders are extracted from every conversation, and your customers are grouped into personas.
  • The assistant: it answers from those passages and cites them. "Which objections came up most this quarter?", "Why did we lose against X?". Your won and lost deals are explained with figures and quotes, and the best answers to objections serve the whole team. The counts are real tallies, never estimates.
  • The CRM: HubSpot, Salesforce, other CRMs or a custom integration stay up to date without typing. The conversation summary becomes a note on the contact, commitments become tasks, and what a rep edits in the CRM is never overwritten.
  • Claude and ChatGPT: an MCP connector gives them the history of every customer, as it does Claude Code or Cursor, with nothing to copy and paste.
  • Data and price: hosted in Europe, GDPR compliant, never used to train an AI. Pricing is in credits, from €39 excl. VAT per month billed annually for the whole workspace, and a workspace starts with 100 free credits, no card required.

Meidly opens on 17 November 2026, with a waitlist until then. If your need is to coach a team through call replay, Modjo or Claap will serve you better. If your need is to understand what makes your customers sign, from one conversation to the next and from one rep to the next, that is what we built it for.

Never lose what makes your customers sign

Every call, email or message joins the right customer's file. Your won and lost deals are explained with figures and quotes, the best answers to objections serve the whole team, and your CRM stays up to date without typing.

Which Gong alternative should you pick, by team?

  • You coach a team of 10 to 30 reps, with a per-seat budget: Modjo, for a French vendor and Gong's approach, or Claap to know the price before the demo.
  • You mostly want reliable meeting notes, no bot, data in Europe: Noota, or Leexi for storage in France.
  • You want to stop taking notes by hand at the lowest cost: tl;dv or the free plan of Fireflies, after checking the CRM.
  • You want to understand what makes your customers sign, calls, emails and messages together, and want the whole team to know what to bring back on the next deal: a tool that turns every conversation into sales memory, filed by customer. That is what we do.
  • You run a pipeline of several hundred opportunities with the budget to match: stay on Gong. A small team is not who it serves best, but it serves large ones very well.

Whatever you choose, run the trial on your own meetings, with your own customers, for at least two weeks. A call analysis tool is judged on what it teaches you that you did not already know, not on its feature list.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Gong cost?

Gong does not publish its prices. Its pricing page states per-user licenses plus a platform fee based on the number of users, and you fill out a form to receive a proposal. The figures circulating on review sites cannot be checked against an official source.

What is the best Gong alternative for a small team?

It depends on your need. For coaching, Modjo or Claap. For bot-free meeting notes with data in Europe, Noota or Leexi. For the lowest cost, tl;dv or Fireflies. To understand what makes your customers sign and keep that memory for the whole team, Meidly.

Is there a free Gong alternative?

Yes. Claap, Noota, tl;dv and Fireflies each have a free plan as of October 2026, limited in duration or in number of recordings, and usually without a CRM connector. At Meidly, a workspace starts with 100 free credits, no card required.

Does Gong host data in Europe?

By default, Gong hosts data in the United States, and the European Union is chosen at onboarding. Make that choice before you sign. Leexi stores its data in France, Noota and Meidly host theirs in Europe.

Does Meidly replace Gong?

Not on the same ground. Gong equips large teams to run their reps. Meidly turns every customer conversation into your sales memory: your won and lost deals explained in your customers' words, the best answers to objections for the whole team, and an assistant that answers by citing the passages. The manager also sees, for each sales method, the criteria covered and the conversations where they are missing. If your question is "what makes our customers sign?" rather than "how do we run dozens of reps?", it is the right tool.
